april 21, 2012...

the day i finally got to marry my best friend!! it was the best week/weekend surrounded by my precious family and friends. andrew and i have truly been blessed with the greatest families/friends and we thank God daily for our blessings.

we had been waiting for this day for a long time! we were long distance for so long, the thought of living in the same city, let alone same home, was the best feeling for both of us! it has been an incredible first 3 months for us. we have had a lot of ups and downs in the first few months, but we are reminded daily how blessed we are to have each other to get through it all.

i wanted to share some photos from our special day! everyone who helped us through this was so wonderful! christina gillion, the baisdens, myrtie blue, dine by design, be true designs & so many more helped pull off the perfect day for us:)!

sneak peak into our casa..

Here's a sneak peak of our townhouse! It is slowly starting to come together one room at a time. I have dreamed about decorating my own home since I was a little girl, so this has been such a fun project for me! Andrew and my parents have been a HUGE help with painting and hanging everything for me! Love you guys so much and appreciate more than you know.
Enjoy...

D.I.Y. Ottoman

This was another one of my Pinterest Craft Find.  My sister & brother-in-law gave me their old coffee table they did not have any need for.  Since I needed a coffee table, I decided to take it and make it my own! After a few trips to Hobby Lobby & Forsyth's Fabrics in Atlanta (my favorite fabric store in town!), I was able to gather everything I needed for my next project.

Items you need:
Sand Paper
Spray Paint for the legs of the table
Spray adhesive
Gorilla Glue
2" or 3" Foam (for the cushion)
Batting
Staple Gun
Fabric (I got 1.5 Yards to make sure I had enough)

First I sanded down the table and spray painted the legs.
Then, I cut and attached all of the foam to the coffee table with Spray Adhesive & Gorilla Glue. Make sure to get all of the sides of the table.

Next, I stapled the batting all the way around the foam, to make sure it stays in place.

Lastly, I stapled the fabric all the way around the table, making sure to tuck the corners. My first attempt, I did not get enough fabric to cover the entire coffee table.  I am going to use this fabric later to make pillows for my couch.

So attempt #2, I had help from Andrew! I was able to buy enough fabric this time to wrap around the entire table.

Andrew helping staple the fabric in the corners (that was the hardest part of the project)

The Final Product!

This project took about 3-4 hours and was a lot of fun to do! It is an easy way to update an old, ugly table into something that you will love for years.

Mercury Glass for Less!

Pinterest has been my obsession since I start a few months ago.  Recently, I saw a post where you can create your own mercury glass look for a fraction of the cost! After a quick trip to Hobby Lobby, I brought back 3 candle holders for less than $20 (they were 50% off). My sister, Allison, ordered Krylon Looking Glass spray paint online (we could not find it in stores).

Materials You Need:
Any Glass Object
Bottle of Krylon Looking Glass Spray Paint
A Spray Bottle of Water

First, you spray water all over the candle holders. Next, you spray on your looking glass spray paint. Let it dry for 15 minutes and...

Final Product!

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season with their families!  I am so blessed to be able to spend Christmas with my family this year in Atlanta.

Merry Christmas from Us + Dutch!
